The Euer Valley: a magical place for XC Skiers

February 2026 If you're a cross-country skier who enjoys valley terrain, the Euer Valley at Tahoe Donner Nordic Center in Truckee, California has the perfect trails. This serene valley offers a beautiful escape into nature, far away from the crowds. My eleven-mile journey covered most of the valley floor (a few trails were closed) with minimal elevation gain, except for the 400 foot climb back to the Adventure Center, and involved only a few repeated trails. For those seeking a peaceful ski with plenty to explore and unbelievable scenery, this trail is ideal. This workout will burn the calories if you set a good pace!

The Euer Valley is part of the Tahoe Donner Cross Country Ski Center is located in Truckee, California. Open to the public this Nordic Center is over 2,800 acres and has over 100 km of XC ski trails.
